The Shuswap area is one of British Columbia's most popular tourist destinations. Famous for houseboating, the four arms of Shuswap Lake stretch out across South-Central British Columbia connecting small communities such as Salmon Arm, Scotch Creek, Blind Bay, Sicamous and more with hundreds of kilometres of shoreline and many hidden coves and beaches. This area is known for warm sunny summers, sandy beaches, championship golf courses and overall as the perfect place for a relaxing getaway.

Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy access to several Provincial Parks, including Shuswap Lake, Silver Beach, Roderick Haig-Brown and Cinnemousun Narrows where they will find camping, beaches, day use and picnic areas and a great selection of hiking and biking trails.

If fishing is your sport of choice, there are a number of local guide companies that offer day trips and boat rentals. At the end of August each year the annual salmon run starts attracting tourists and locals alike to the Shuswap River. Another popular local attraction is white water rafting. A guided trip down the Adams River is sure to provide you with great memories and stories for your friends back home.

Similar to the Okanagan Valley, the Shuswap region offers a selection of local wineries where you can enjoy a tour and tasting. Shuswap Lake and many of the smaller surrounds lakes provide a great destination for the fishing enthusiast. Several local companies offer guided day trips and equipment rentals. Even if you don't end up catching anything you can still enjoy a nice afternoon spent on the lake.
